Question
How can you write a ratio in lowest form

How do you find the area of one shaded area

Answer
Hello, Heather.

To write a ratio in simplest terms, divide both parts of the ratio by the largest number that divides evenly into both parts.

So, the ratio 16:10 can be written as 8:5 (the greatest number that evenly divides into 16 and 10 is 2).

The ratio 18:6 becomes 3:1 (the greatest number that evenly divides into 18 and 6 is 6).

I'm not sure what you're asking in your second question. Please provide an example problem.

Regards,
John
