Just looking at the problem, if the average is 41 and there are 5 consecutive odd numbers, the middle number is 41, therefore, v = 37, w = 39, x = 41, y = 43 and z = 45, so 37(45) = 1665


algebraically, let v = v, so v+v+2+v+4+v+6+v+8/5 = 41
v+v+2+v+4+v+6+v+8 = 205
5v + 20 = 205
5v = 185
v = 37
