Question
solve x  7x -16 < 8x +2

Answer
Hello Ivelisse,

Inequalities are solved just like equalities, except when multiplying or
dividing by a negative number, we change the direction of the inequality.

So...

7x -16 < 8x + 2, add 16 to both sides
7x < 8x + 18, subtract 8x from both sides
-x < 18, now multiply by -1
x > -18

OK?
