Question
If one million people died in one year in a country where the population was ten million, how many people died every minute?
In addition to telling me the answer, could you also tell me how   you came up with the answer -- what was the formula that you used?

                              Thank you

Answer
Hello Dan,

If 1,000,000 ppl died in a year, then just divide that by the number of
minutes ina  year to get the average number of deathers per minute.

Since there are 60 minutes to an hour, 24 hrs to a day, and 365 days (usually)
in a year...there are 60*24*365=525,600 minutes per year.

So, there were an average of 1,000,000/525,600 deaths/minute
or about 1.9 deaths per minute (almost 2).
