Question
Hi. I was wondering how to simplify a negitive number? Thanks, and I am hoping you can answer my question!

Answer
Hello, Nikki.

Simplifying generally has to do with reducing fractions.

For example, with the negative fraction -4/8, divide both numerator and denominator by the largest number which will evenly divide into both numbers.

The largest number which will evenly divide into both 4 and 8 is 4. So dividing gives you a simplified fraction of -1/2.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
John
