6.00
0.6
0.006
6.6
0.06
0.00006
and the reason ofthe order

Answer
Hello, Kaylynn.

0.00006 0.006 0.06 0.6 6.00 6.6

To answer this question, you must recognize the different place values. The first place value to the right of the decimal point is the tenth value; the second place value is the hundredth place value; the third place value is the thousandth place value; the fourth place value is the ten thousandth place value; and the fifth place value to the right of the decimal point is the hundred thousandth place value.

Thus, 0.00006 is 6 hundred thousandths. 0.06 is 6 hundredths, 0.006 is 6 thousandths, and 0.6 is 6 tenths.

6 hundred thousandths, written as a fraction, is 6/100,000. 6 hundredths is 6/100, and so on.

So, it's easy to see that 0.6, or 6 tenths, would be a larger number than 6 hundredths. (6 divided by 10 is a larger result than 6 divided by 100.)

The two largest numbers are 6.00 (6), and 6.6. 6.00 is just the number 6, and 6.6 is equal to 6.6 (6 and 6 tenths).

6.6 is the largest number (.6 greater than 6.00).

I hope this helps.

Any further questions, feel free to ask.

John
