Hello:

Can you solve the following using algebra or some other method?

$? - (30% X $?) = $350

$? equals the same amount and that amount is $500.00.

I'm a little confused... If you already know that $? = 500, then you have the answer.  Unless, you are looking to find out how why the answer is 500?  This is how to solve the problem.

We're going to call $?, z and 30% = .3, so
z - .3Z = 350 (combine like terms)
.7z = 350   (divide both sides by .7)
z = 500
