Question
Josh, how much farther would I have to run on certified college, 400 meter, track to equal a full mile - 5250 feet?
I would be running in the first lane.

My early calcultions indicate 26.6 yds.

Would you please confirm

Answer
Mr. Weston,

One mile is the same as 5280 feet (1609.34 meter, or 1.60934 kilometer)
This distance represents four laps in the inside lane on a standard outdoor track, plus an extra 9 meters.

Thus, in addition to the first 400 meters, you need 3 more laps of 400 meters, plus another 9.34 meters (or 30.65 ft) to be exact.

Alternatively, after the first lap of 400 m, the additional distance you have to cover is equivalent to 1209.344 meter or 1322.55 yard. Good luck buddy!
