Question
Hello:

10 times some number is 3 times the same number by 14.

Solution 14 divided by (10-3) = 14/7 = 2

Can you explain why or how this solution works for providing the answer?

I thank you for your reply.

Answer
Something is missing from
"10 times some number is 3 times the same number ^^^ by 14"

I think it should say "10 times some number, less 14, is equivalent to 3 times the same number"; otherwise it makes NO sense.

Solve 10*x-14=3*x for x and you'll get x=2.
