Question
How many cubed pieces of fudge that are 3 inches on an edge can be packed into a Christmas tin that is 9 inches deep by 12 inches wide by 8 inches high with the lid still being able to be closed?  Could you please explain in a little more detail...thanks

Answer
Hello Jan,

Since 3 divides 9 3 times, we can get 3 pieces along the
9 inch side...
3 divides 12 4 times, we can get 4 pieces along the
12 inch side...
3 divides 8 only 2 times (if we go to 3, then the fudge
would stack above the edge and the lid would not close.

So, we 3x4x2=24 pieces can fit.

OK?
