Question
5x+5=30
-
7

Answer
There are probably two ways of interpreting your question due to the awkward placement of the fraction bar.

If we are solving (5x/7)+5=30, then, in the next step, we subtract 5 from both sides to get (5x/7)=25.
Next, we multiply both sides by 7 to get 5x=175. Finally, dividing throughout by 5, we get x=35.

If what you meant was (5x+5)/7 =30, i.e., the numerator contains "5x+5" while the denominator contains 7, we multiply both sides by 7 for a start.
This will give (5x+5)=210. The idea is to find "x", so we try to isolate this unknown and leave it on one side of the equation. We do this by subtracting five from both sides. This gives 5x=205. It follows that x=205/5=41.

Cheers:)
