Hi Charlotte,

"Mile" is a measure of distance, whilst "minute" is a measure of time. These two units are fundamentally incompatible.

"Kilometer" for instance, is also a distance measure. In this case, we can convert from the unit of "mile" to the unit of "kilometer".

In questions where both distance and time units are involved, you will always be told the speed at which you are traveling. This is because the time taken to cover a certain distance depends on the speed at which you are traveling.

Suppose you have to travel between two cities which are 200 miles apart. How long will it take if your vehicle is traveling at 50 miles per hour?

TIME = DISTANCE / SPEED
    = 200 [mile] / 50 [mile/hour]
Answer: time = 4 hours.
