how long is 2/5 of 15/16 inch
Learn what the question is asking.
We need to find 2/5 of X, where X=15/16.
What do we do? We multiply the two fractions together.
(2/5)*(15/16)....(next step, factorize the second fraction)
=(2/5)*((5*3)/(2*8))
=(2*5*3)/(2*5*8)
=3/8 as the common factors cancel.
