Question
how much larger than 3/4 inch is 25/32 inch?

Answer
These questions are all based on the same principle.
This question asks for the difference between these two quantities. So, just subtract one from the other.

To do this, we need to find a common denominator and express 3/4 in terms of x/32.
We do this by multiplying the numerator and denominator by 8.
(3*8)/(4*8)=24/32.
Now, 25/32 - 3/4 = 25/32 - 24/32
=(25-24)/32
=1/32 inch

Have a go yourself before you ask next time.

When I work through problems, I like to emphasize concepts which I believe are worth noting. I will try to answer questions in the following areas, but not at the advanced level. Algebra. Sequences & Series. Trigonometry. Functions & Graphs. Coordinate Geometry. Quadratic Polynomials. Exponential & Logarithms. Basic Calculus. Probability, Permutation and Combination. Mathematical Induction. Complex numbers. Physics problems.

Experience

I have worked as a teaching assistant in college. My hope is that more people will share knowledge without boundary, give help without seeking recognition or monetary rewards.
