Assume the number of fraction strips is y;
(1/4)*y=1
y=4
Answer:There are 4 fraction strips of 1/4 in 1.

Similarly:
(1/4)*y=3/4
y=3
Answer:There are 3 fraction strips of 1/4 in 3/4.

(1/4)*y=1 3/4
(1/4)*y=7/4
y=7
Answer:There are 7 fraction strips of 1/4 in 1 3/4.

(1/8)*y=1 1/8
(1/8)*y=9/8
y=9
