Question
hey coach im a junior in highschool, im 5'9 and 132.5 pounds i play varsity point guard for my highschool i am a hard worker and this is going to be my first season playing varsity. my problem is i get nervous before my games and i need to improve on keeping my man in front of me and i want to know how i can get recruited for d-one colleges because basketball is something i really want to do in my life this upcoming summer might be my first aau season.  and last i want to know how to become a better point guard. well please answer my questions thank you

Answer
HI Marcus,

First of all, it's normal to be nervous before games. That's actually a good thing, because it means you care.  I'm really not an expert on what D-1 colleges are looking for. There will be lots of scouts that come to your games, especially if your school has a good basketball program. If your a guard, then your going to be scouted against other guards in your league. They are going to compare how you are with all the rest, and then take it from there. There really isn't any one bit of advice I can give you on how to get recruited. I wish I could offer you more advice on that, but that's a question better suited for your coach. Good Luck.
