Question
why is it in basketball when you are doing a layup you can take 2 steps without bouncing but when your normaly running and bouncing you can't take those 2 steps it just does not make any sense to me at all.

thanks

Answer
HI Dani,

the reason your allowed to take two steps when doing a layup is just because your in the motion of shooting. When your dribbling up the court  and not making a shot attempt, it puts you at an advantage if you get to take two steps, and puts the defense at a disadvantage. I know it doesn't make sense, but it's just one of those rules.
