Expert: Bret Temple - 8/16/2008
Question My basketball game consists of many moves affiliated with streetball, many through the legs tricks and things like that. I wanted to know whether my streetbll skills could stop me from reaching the next level or the best I can be. Advice would be verrrry much appreciated.

I think some of the top basketball players in college and the NBA have a lot of what you would call street skills. The trick is to make sure you can incorporate those skills into an organized, coached team player. The ability to dribble through your legs or do tricks alone will not get you to the next level. You need to have the whole package. You have to be able to shoot, handle the ball, be a good aggressive defender, and be coach able. Every level you go up, your going to learn new things, and encounter a completely different caliber of player on the opposing team that your use to. What you need to do is find out what your strengths are and build on them.
