Question
what is traveling and what happens when someone does it?

Answer
Hi Anne,

Any player in possession of the ball must dribble it. Once a player picks up their dribble, they may NOT walk with the ball. This is the most common form of "traveling". Once Traveling is called by the official or referee, play stops and the ball is given to the other team. This is classified as a "Turnover". I hope that answers your question.
