Question
what is a moving pic.
Also, if i'm at a spot like the free throw line and there is a taller defender blocking me, what's the best thing to do?
I'm good at making shots but i suck at lay-ups. What is the best way to get better at lay ups (I usually overshoot it or don't put enough power into it)?

Answer
Hi D,

A moving pick is an illegal screen set by a player on a team that has possession of the ball. What I mean by illegal is basically not establishing position and creating contact with the defender, in order to gain an advantage. When setting a pick, you must be stationary and have already established position, and not move your body into a defender.

As far as lay-ups, if your weak, then trying scoring lay-ups more on a fast break when the defense hasn't had a chance to get set up. If your a shorter player, it's harder to score against larger defenders. You probably get your shot blocked a lot. As far as getting better, just practice practice practice. If your at the free throw line and a larger defender is blocking you, have your team set screens to free you up.
