Question
For NFHS rules- If team A player, A-1, has the ball and dribbles from backcourt to frontcourt and then passes the ball back to a trailing player, A-2, who has not yet crossed the halfcourt line, who then jumps in the air and catches the ball and then lands with both feet in the frontcourt...is this a backcourt violation since his feet never touched the the backcourt while in posession of the ball?

This would be a backcourt violation. Player A-2 caught the ball in mid air before he/she landed in the front court. Hence, Player A-2 never established front court status before catching the ball. The last time he/she's feet touched the ground was in the backcourt, so player A-2 still had backcourt status. I hope that helps.
