Basketball Instruction/Improving Jumping Ability

Question
Hello Mr. Muro -
I am a distance runner(4:14 mile)/marathoner(2:54) that is taking the summer off and instead focusing on my jumping ability.  Since I can get rim, I figure another 6" will allow me to be able to dunk.

I read your suggestions and thought they were great.  One of my personal favorite drills that I would add to your list, however, is what I call stair climbers.  Maybe this is because my calves were always one of my strengths, but I also see this as a vital area for potential vertical leap gain.

Thank you for your suggestions still.
Sincerely,  Todd

Answer
I am always open to new ideas and drills that can benefit players. Can you go into more detail about the stair climbers? I am very interestd in learning more about it. Thanks and by the way, nice times! I appreciate you taking the time to help out! Good luck and take care...
