Question
Our son is a high school basketball player.  We are currently trying to find a personal trainer for the off season.  He is working this summer, so camp is out of the question.  Any suggestions of where to start looking.  We live in the Northeast.  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Roger,

Without knowing what city you actually live in it would be hard to recommend someone. If you are uncomfortable in giving out that information, you can start by searching the internet under basketball instruction.  You might want to check with local community colleges. You might be able to get an assistant coach to work with your son as typically they do not make allot of money and might be looking for some extra cash. The community college system is usually a stepping stone for allot of coaches trying to break into the four-year college ranks. There have been allot of good coaches that got there start at the community college level. Jerry Tarkainian of UNLV & Fresno State and Jamie Dixon of Pitt just to name a couple. Let me know if this helps and if not we can try to figure something else out. Good luck!
