Question Hi, i would like to know the difference between the traveling rules in the NBA and in College and Highschool, because i know theres a diff. but i'd like to know because i watch alot of NBA and i see alot of things that would be traveling in Highschool and college but because of the wording of the rules for the NBA, they aren't traveling. Also i'd like to know when it would be traveling when spinning as i'm learning the spin move. When you pick up the ball and start to spin is that considered a step because then wouldn't you have to spin all in one stepp and i don't see that in the NBA. In the NBA i've seen like 4 steps taken and not a travel call. So i'd just like to know the steps for a spin move thanks.
Answer Hi Luke,
basically the traveling violation rule is the same for the NBA as it is in college and high school with one exception. In high school and college you cannot fall down or roll around on the ground with the ball in posession. I don't have an NBA rule book, but I know the officials in the NBA do not call traveling in that case. Everything else is suppose to be called the same in any league. I'm just not sure what your asking in regards to the spin move. Try to be more specific in your question.
