Basketball Instruction/quick basketball tryouts question

Question
Here is my plan. For tryouts the coach said that we had to do 70 push ups and run for 50 minutes without stopping. So I set up a routine. I wake up in the morning and I do 20 push ups and 20 sit ups. Then I go to school come back home and then I finish my homework and I practice dribbling through cones through the legs and behind the back everyday and then I jog for a light 10 minutes. I go home eat dinner take a bath and before I go to sleep I do air alert 3 which is a vertical training program. Then on the weekend I wake up early go around practice shooting and a few moves I learned and I  jog for 10 minutes. Each week I increase the amount of push ups and sit ups and the amount of time I jog in the weekend by 5. Is this a good routine cause my tryouts are on October 25th.

Answer
Dear friend,

That routine is well-designed and definitely going to prepare you for the tryouts.

Be sure to keep working on Air Alert because vertical jump is something that plays a great role. It is used to measure overall leg explosiveness, power and speed.

I think what you lack is a good set of sprints and accelarations. Add this after performing the air alert exercises.

Also, you'll need to jog for a little more time day after day. In order to reach the 50 min required.
