Question
hey i roughly have 3 and 1\2 months untill basketball season starts. But school starts in 1 and 1\2 months. At my high scool, the basketball program starts a "pre-condition after school program" where they evalute the returning players. I thought that it would make a good impression on the coachs if i was already in shape. So i was wonering if you could could give me a work-out that i could start now so that i will already be in shape for when school starts. Thanks a lot!

Answer
Hello Sam,

You are absolutly right about being in shape and yes the coaches would be impressed if you showed up to camp in shape ready to go.

The best way to get in basketball shape is to play basketball, so play as much basketball as you can without burning yourself out.

Concerning workouts I would make sure to mix it up so your workouts dont become boring and stale. I am attaching a link that gives you tips and drills for a good basketball workout. I would do this every other day. On your off days I would do one of the following; jog, swim, or bike.

Also you can give yourself a good workout by shooting but going game speed. If you have someone to pass the ball to you, you can work on game like cuts, pivots, and shots. If you shoot a couple hundred shots a day cutting, pivoting and shooting game like moves you will get a great workout.

If you need more let me know...GOOD LUCK!
