Basketball Trivia (general) - NBA TRIPLE HEADER

Expert: Jamie Selko - 2/15/2008

Question
i would like to know whether or not there has ever been an NBA triple header at the houston astrodome. I seem to remember it taking place between 1968 an 1972. i submitted this question ao another one of your so called EXPERTS and got nothing but a smart alec response. I hope you can do better.

Answer
1.  Houston did not get an NBA team until 1971.
2.  By then the practice of playing even double-headers was a thing of the past, even games on "neutral" courts were becoming a rarity (Houston played three games in San Antonio in '71-'72, one at Waco and one at El Paso).  There was most certainly no triple-header in Houston that year or any other.
3. The only basketball games of which I am aware which were played in the Astrodome were the 1971 NCAA Final Four and the 1968 game between #1 UCLA and #2 Houston.
