What is the inside dimension of a regulation basketball hoop? Also what is the outside dimension of a regulation basketball?
The official NBA rules state 'Each basket shall consist of a pressure-release NBA approved metal safety ring 18" in inside diameter with a white cord net 15" to 18" in length'. The FIBA hoops is the same size.
Official NBA basketball size is 'Around channels 29 1/2" to 29 3/4", across channels 29 5/8" to 29 7/8" ', FIBA says 'maximum Circumference 78 cm (30.7")', and the NCAA 'maximum Circumference 30", seams 1/4" Max.'.
