Answer Howdy- the average height is 6'7¼". The shortest ever is "Muggsy" Bogues at 5'3.
(Incidentally, if you are interested in the shortest NBA players, may I recommend the book PLAYING TALL by Bill Heller. It has a chapter for each of the ten shortest players in NBA history. You may be able to find it at Amazon or on the e-bay).
