Question My dog has a almost black thick discharge coming out of her left ear, I clean it and the next day is there again. I used a cleaner and a treatment for mites but she rolls around on the ground when I put it in. Is that discharge mites?
Answer Hi Juliana,
Not necessarily. It's very possible it's a fungal or yeast infection. OTC cleaners won't help if it is, she'll need antibiotics and medicated ear cleaner from the vet. This can be a very painful problem for dogs, please take her in and have her checked out.
