Question
Hi, I am going to buy a beagle, but my parents think that that type of dogs make lots of noise. We live in a Duplex and we don't know if its right to buy a beagle while we are living here. Is it the right time to buy a beagle??
I also wanted to ask how can i react after a dog has done something wrong like barking??
Thank you for your help.

Answer
Hello,
Its true beagles are dogs that tend to bark a whole lot. I myself live in a apartment and I have a beagle. They tend to bark when they are scared, or fear of a intruder, or just playing. There are many ways you can control the barking, but it will never completely stop. Obedience training is very effective. Shock collars aren't something I really recommend, but in your case it would work and you might only have to use it for six months or so just to teach your beagle when it is ok to bark. I would get a puppy vs. a one or two year old beagle. Let it grow up learning right from wrong. Until then when the beagle barks just give it a firm NO and point your index finger at it. Beagles are dogs that are loyal, loving, and protective. There is nothing stopping you to get one, you just may  have to work with it a little more. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your beagle.
