Expert: Marie Peppers/ Beagle Advice; Beagle Recommended Feeding; - 3/26/2011

Question
My rescued Beagle,Hannah Leah(5 years old)was weighed in at 35 lbs this morning at her annual check up.  For approximately the last 6-9 months, I have been feeding her a All Natural Dog food for Weight Control (1/2 cup dry, 1 table spoon canned wet food) 2 times a day.  Instead of her weight decreasing, it is increasing.  She has already had a back injury due to jumping and her weight.  She is relatively active (could exercise more). I am becoming increasing concerned and when she was at the doctor's today, they said she was not a candidate for a Thyroid issue, since her pulse/blood pressure were right in line.  I give her daily vitamins and glucosamine daily.  Any suggestions?

Hi Ty,  I love Beagles!  Let's help her get rid of the excessive weight.
A slow loss is a long process but very safe.

Take Hannah off your Vitamins and Glucosamine and use My Brands.

For the topper:  I would like to see you do some home-cooked ground lamb or turkey.
Cook 1 pound in a skillet and add 2 teaspoons or olive oil -  
Add a few dashes of garlic powder, too.
Offer 3 tablespoons of this meat on  top of the Dry Life's Abundance Kibble 2 x per day.
