Question
Last December I got a 5 month old beagle from my brother in law. Everything was great for a few weeks and then she started doing what can only be explained as temper tantrums. She starts out by trying to nip at your hands or feet then starts in with the barking and jumping and growling. Well it calmed down for a little while but now its back. Shes now almost a year old so shes quite a bit stronger and its happening a couple times a day. The odd thing is it that once I'm able to grab a hold of her she calms right down. My brother in law told me that his female which is my dogs mom does it to sometimes but nowhere near as bad. I do not want to give her up, she is a beautiful dog and I love her so much but she needs to stop with the tantrums I just don't know what to do.

Answer
Hi Kristen, She needs to learn bite inhibition.
SEE my post on this:  I know this will help you.
YOU need to teach her what MOMMA dog did NOT teach her baby..

Since they lived in packs for hundreds of years, they naturally enjoy the company of other dogs and humans. Curious and comedic, they often follow their noses–which can lead to some mischief if they are not provided with daily activity.
