Question
1.  What is the best food for beagles?  I have 2 and both are currently eating Royal Canin.

2.  Both Beagles have allergies. I have not them tested for specific allergies.  They both receive an antihistime daily and I really work with their ears. 1 is worse than the other.  They are 3 y.o. and 8 y.o.  Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks so much for your time!!!!

Answer
Hi Susan, I would put them on a venison and rice food, you can buy it at places like petsmart and I would try giving them 1/2 cup of food, 1/2 cup of green beans and 2 TBL spoons of canned beef gravey, just a cheap brand. I also like to feed dogs with allergies at 8AM and again at 6PM with a snack around 2PM and again 9PM this can be easier on their systems. As for the meds you may need to give the one who is worse a dose in the morning and one in the evening with meals, make sure your giving them the pill form, the liquids can be hard on their stomachs, the vet may be able to give them something stronger without having to test them. The ears it sounds like you are doing everything you can, if they start to smell bad they may need be checked by the vet for an infection. I wish you well and I know how much work it takes to care for a dog with allergies, keep up the great job in caring for them.
Good Luck

Experience

I have been a dog lover and in my younger years was a breeder of
Old English Sheepdogs, I got my first beagle 4 years ago and I have been in love with them eversince. I have read every beagle book I can get my hands on, I have fostered beagles for others and helped other beagles find homes. I seem to have a special bond and understanding of the breed and will continue my education into them.I don't do it for money I just want people to understand their breed so they will be able to deal with them.
