Bascially, how important words are and how powerful they can be.  They're saying there's a lot of bad stuff going on in the world and the best way they know how to deal with it is to keep rhyming.  It's also about how the best way to get their feelings expressed are to write.  Instead of seeing a shrink, they write a song.

Anyway I think it's something like that.  Hope that helps.
