Question
Hello Nic. I´m a Swede who own an ORIGINAL GERMAN POLYDOR single recorded and released in 1964,Jambalaya-Will You Still Love Tomorrow credited TONY SHERIDAN and THE BEAT BROTHERS.
As that comp group to Tony had I think not less than 3 different productions between the year 1961 to 1964,I wonder if you happens to know what the production of members were on my record??
Was it the usual BEATLES members John,Paul,George and Ringo or anyone else??
John,Paul,George & Ringo were one of the productions but what about the members in the other two productions of The Beat Brothers??
Any idea??

Answer
Hi there Bjorn.
I exclude that The Beatles (Jihn Paul George and Ringo) played in a 1964 release with Tony Sheridan.
The only recording sessions which featured Sheridan and The Beatles (Pete Best on drums) as far as I know is the May 1961 Hamburg one, Producer Bert Kaempfert (My Bonnie, The Saints, Why, Sweet Georgia Brown, Nobody's Child, If you love me baby, Ain't she sweet, cry for a shadow).
The were credited as The Beat Brothers for Kaempfert believed that the name Beatles pronounced with German accent would sound as the word Peedles wich was some kind obscene...
Anyway later the Beat Brothers name was used to cover backing musicians on other Sheridan's recordings.
These musicians were, but I don't know if they are those who play in your record: Colin Milander (bass), Johnny Watson (drums), Roy Young (organist), Rikky Barnes (sax).
Hope it helps, bye.

Expertise

I`m an italian Beatle fan who`s been studying, playing, reading The Beatles for more than twentyfive years. I can answer about recording sessions, lyrics, biography, instruments and more. I`ve been playng bass guitar and their music for years and know pretty much about their music and composition. I own a double complete discography (on vinil and on cd) and lots of books about them. I regret not to be so expert about their films and personal careers, but I think I can answer nearly any question about their life and music in the period 1940 - 1970.

Experience

Usually, no Trivia on The Beatles leaves me without words. Moreover I've been playing bass guitar and their music for nearly twenty years and I can discuss on this matter quite deeply. Please no questions about vintage Lps', collectors items' or memorabilia value.
