Beatles, The/Beatles purple trunk cover

Question
My question is about the Beatles Yesterday and Today album and the purple trunk cover.  The bottom line is I have a "Stereo" purple trunk cover slick pasted over a mono (T2553) album.  I dont think I have a butcher cover under it but would like to know if it might be a 'real' purple slick. The purple slick is 12 by 12 1/4, a fuzzy Capitol logo on the upper right corner, and the title reads " "Yesterday"... and Today ".  As far as I can tell the slick is a little thicker than normal.  Both the album and cover would at best be graded as Good and dont seem to have been put together anytime soon.  I can send some pictures if you would like.

Cheers!
Chris

Answer
The Purple Trunk Cover reproduced for the first time is the only alternate, fully-realized replacement cover for Yesterday...And Today that exists. Press proofs were printed, but scrapped at the last minute when the White Trunk Cover design was ultimately chosen. Only four copies of the Purple Trunk Cover are known to have survived, and they have been valued as high as $15,000.
Unfortunately, it would be very difficult to determine authenticity without actually seeing the album you have.
