Question
hi there. I am an enthusiast of beatles albums and am always looking for
more

info of record additions.  can you tell me when the stereo white albums
numbers

started. did the mono numbers on the front cover go up to a certain number.
is

it true that there are the same sets of American numbered white albums, or

were just the British ones numbered? many thanks.

Answer
Stereo white album numbers  - I'm not sure at what number they started but generally they started at higher numbers than the mono ones , usually 4-5 digit . The mono ones started at 0000001 , the first 30 or so were given to Apple employees and Nos. 1-4 to the Beatles themselves  , John it was believed recived No. 1.
The numbers go up to about 0600000 in the original 1st presses in top-opening sleeves  . The 1st issues always preeceded the long number with a 0  , eg 0123456 .The 2nd issues were also numbered but not top-opening sleeves and I beleive started at where the first ones left of ie form 600000 onwards .The 2nd issues did not precede the number with a 0 so looked somethign like this 600123 .
The US versions were also numbered but preceded with an A , eg A 123456 . I'm not sure what the lowest or the highest one is .
Hope that helps...
