MY QUESTION; Should your mother know?
Joseph
Answer Hi Joseph,
This song was a lesser-contructed song than something from the previous year - "When I'm 64".
Brian asked the Beatles to compose a song for the "Our World" satellite-hookup-around-the-world special. Paul wrote "Your Mother Should Know" and John wrote "All You Need is Love". John's song won.
Trying to get into Paul's world in 1967, I would say 'yes' to your question. Your mother should have known. Mothers always seem to know more than they lead on to know. At the time, the father was the definite bread-winner/king of the household.
