Hello Pattie,
Can you tell me anything about a recording I own.

It's a gold plated copper disc on one side with a red Parlophone label, described as the "A" side.
Its described as manufactured in the UK by EMI Records Limited and also described as a "1962 original sound recording made by EMI Records Ltd" underneath "Directed by GEORGE MARTIN"
It has a number 45-R 4949 MONO on the right hand side of the label.
At the base of the label is the title LOVE ME DO, then (Lennon McCartney) then THE BEATLES.
There is a number stamped 7XCE 17144-2-1- on the space between the recording grooves and the red Parlophone label.

On the reverse side is the plain brown copper disc.

Is there anything you can tell me about this disc please,
whether it sounds genuine and its value.

Are you able to tell me of anyone I could go to, to see if I can get this disc authenticated and valued please.

Well, Derek, I'm not familiar with that particular pressing. Is there any way you can send me a picture of it, front and back. I'm not sure I know what you mean by a "gold-plated copper disc". Are you saying the record itself is gold-plated copper?. If you can send the pictures, please send them to me at my band's site: pattie@luvmedeux.com.

The red Parlophone label is the original UK release, but I've never seen one that had "Directed by George Martin" on the label.

Can you tell me how you got this, how long you've had it and whether or not it's in a picture sleeve? Is this supposedly a pressing from 1962 or a special re-release? The more info I can get, the better I can help you. Thanks!
