Education/Credentials While I have no degree in "Beatleology", I probably could write a course on it!
QUESTION: Hi Pattie, I just ran across a card I had when I was a kid. It is different from the ones in the sets I have seen. The card has two sides. One has Paul, one has George...they are signed in b&w. The pics are b&w and the card is paper thin. These are head shots with totally white background. No info on card as to manufacturer or date. Are you familiar with this card? Thanks! ==judy
ANSWER: Hi Judy!
While I'd love to tell you exactly where that card came from, I honestly can't. I've not seen one like that through the Topps company, who made all of the Beatles trading cards. Do you remember how you got it? I have a few speculations, one being that it came from the Beatles fan club, especially if it appears to be printed on paper rather than card stock. They didn't always mark their giveaway items. Another possibility is that it was cut from a magazine. I've definitely seen trading cards in magazines before. Are there any sort of perforations along the edges? I'm afraid I'd have to see it to really give you an educated guess. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I'll keep looking around to see if I find anything on it. In the meantime, thanks for the question!
Peace,
Pattie

QUESTION: Follow up...it's definitely not cut out of a magazine because the images on the front and back match exactly. I was never a member of a fan club...have no idea where I got it. I'm sending a picture to see if that helps. I apologize...you're going to get three pictures...for some reason iphoto won't let me put that in a separate event. But you'll know the obvious one. Thanks so much for your time. IMAGE:
ANSWER: Hi there, Judy...
Well, the only picture that I got on here was a picture of Monkees trading cards, not a Beatle card. If you can send me the pictures to my email at pattie@luvmedeux.com, that might be easier. I have iPhoto too, so it should be a breeze. Regarding the magazine reference, several of the "teeny bopper" mags in the sixties used to actually have pages of trading cards in the magazine that you would either cut out or punch out. The image on the back would match exactly because that's how they were designed. That's why I was including that as a possibility. Looking forward to seeing the picture.
Peace,
Pattie

QUESTION: Didn't mean to run you off! lol!! Hope you had a good vacation. You must have gotten the picture because I saw it posted on here, but I'll resend it just case.
Answer Hi Judy...
Well, to the best of my knowledge, that's an old fan club card from the US fan club in 1964. Without physically seeing the type of card stock that's it's printed on, it's hard to know for certain, but I used to have those cards myself when I was a kid. I wish I had more information for you, but I'm fairly certain that's where it came from. Thanks for the follow up!
