QuestionQUESTION: Are Aussie 1st pressings of Beatle albums as valuable as uk ones as I know some are quite unique
ANSWER: Hi Brendan!
This is an easy one...yes! The wonderful thing about the Beatles is that everything they touched turned to gold and there's no exception with imports. If you have 1st pressings of any Beatles LP, it's valuable. Australian pressings can sometimes bring in much more money then US or UK releases. For example, if you have the 1st Australian pressing of the "Please Please Me" LP with the cover printed in the UK (subsequent issues of this LP had the covers printed in Australia, but the first editions are UK made covers), in near mint condition, you could probably sell it for over $500. Thanks for the question!

QUESTION: High Pattie thanks for the promptness I have in my possession an Australian with the Beatles now my copy is a 1st press I believe in mono on the gold and black label this thing is as new. From my understanding the Aussie issue is the only one on this label is this correct and whats it worth. I also have the stereo version on silver and black.
ANSWER: Hi again, Brendan...
Yes, it's certainly worth something. If you have a first Australian pressing of "With The Beatles", it will have a different cover than the standard EMI issue cover. It would still be black and white but have "With The Beatles" written in pink quite largely on the lower right. Here's a picture of it:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v683/Breegha/Beatles/Collectibles%20pics/with-. The Parlophone catalog number is Parlophone PMCO1206. The current value of the mono pressing is $350 in near mint condition. The stereo version was released much later and would bring in about $275 in the same condition. The label should look like this for the mono pressing:

Please keep in mind, if you're trying to sell them that if you go to a dealer, you will NOT get what it's worth. You're better off selling them on your own. Good luck and thanks again for the questions!
Peace,
Pattie

QUESTION: Hi Pattie hope you dont mind all my questions I have many.
1 Im looking at buying the revolver misspress its approx $640 oz dollars is this a fair price.
2 The Rubber Soul Loud Cut I apparently have one why is it referred to as the Loud Cut
AnswerHey Brendan...
Well, I've heard of that issue of "Revolver" selling for as much as a $1000 and as little as $500 (US). It's a pricey item to be sure. I personally would never pay that much, but I don't have that sort of money, so that's a personal choice, not a reflection on the rarity of the LP.
To answer your question about the "Rubber Soul-LOUD CUT" (to identify, the matrix numbers end with "-1"), that names refers to the fact that the first issue was mixed quite badly. It was very muddy and the bass sounded very flat (in tone, not in note). The vocals sound loud and much too edgy, which is why they called it "loud cut". After discovering the error on the mix, it was pulled and re-issued. Good collectible! Thanks again!
