Question
I recently asked you a question about the Revolver lp and you stated that first pressing stereo copies had the needle damage warning on the back cover. My mother has a Capitol records copy with the rainbow label stereo copy which is a 1983 reissue that also has the same warning on the rear cover. This copy also has written inside the rainbow colors "mfg. by Capitol records, inc.,a subsidiary of Capitol industries-Emi,Inc.,USA Capitol marca reg." Do you know about this? Also, what are the key features to look for when trying to identify a true first pressing mono copy of Rubber Soul[Capitol records].Thank you for your time,Bob

Answer
Hi again, Robert!

Yes, I'm familiar with that '83 re-issue. They did continue to use that warning on many of their albums even besides "Revolver". The original mono pressing of "Rubber Soul" should have a black label with the rainbow edges. The catalog number is Capitol Records T2442. The mix is certainly different on the mono vs the stereo issue. There's not much else to tell really to determine it. I sure hope this helps!
