Question
Subject     Beatles Misprinted album
Question     Pattie,My brother has either Let it Be or The White album that has the right labels on the vinal, but the songs recorded on both side are the same. In other words the album only plays the song on one side of the label. I beleive the album cover is in good-great condition. Have you seen this before. Can you estimate the value, Thanks Gilbert

Answer     Hi Gilbert!Well, I really would need to know which album you're referring to. You're saying that the songs you hear are the same on both sides, but the labels show as they should? Misprints aren't that uncommon. Miscuts are a bit rarer, but they did happen. Let me know exactly which album it is, but I suspect either one would be worth a couple of hundred dollars.Peace,Pattie8^)

Pattie,

The album in question is Let it Be. Do you have any additional information.

Answer
Hi again, Gilbert....

Your brother has what is called a "miscut" or "mispressed" album. This wasn't something that happened very often, but I've owned and sold a few in my day. Every now and then a major glitch happens at the pressing plants and these would be turned out.

Because his is a Beatles LP, well that makes it far more valuable than if it were a lesser artist. There's no "known" instance of this happening on "Let It Be", so it's far from common. As to it worth, well, it's worth whatever you can get for it, but frankly, I'd say you may be able to sell it on eBay for $150-$200. Thanks for the follow up!

Peace,
Pattie
