Question
Hi Pattie....I have a Beatles "White Album" RIAA Certified Gold Award, it was presented to Paul McCartney. On the back of the award is a Capitol records label of some sort with the "#101" stamped on it. I was wondering if you might have any info on what this label/number means....Thanks John

Answer
Hi John!

Generally speaking, stickers or labels on the back of RIAA awards normally indicate who actually made the award, the framing, etc. Honestly, without seeing a picture of it, I can't even venture a correct response, I could only give you an educated guess. I do know that when an album reaches "gold" status, or higher, that many copies of the awards are made. One for each artist as well as producers, engineers, record company executives, etc. I've never been aware of manufacturers numbering these awards, but I suppose it's possible. The only stickers I've ever seen on the back were manufacturing labels. If you can send a picture to pattie@luvmedeux.com, I'll see if it makes more sense to me. Please make it as high resolution as you can if there is detail on the label. Also, did you purchase this or was it given to you by someone? Sometimes, the answer's in the story, you know? In the meantime, I'll ask a few other people and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the question!

Peace,
Pattie
