Beatles, The/Beatles white album misprint

Question
Hi Pattie,
I saw your expertise concerning a white album misprint (answered 2009), so here is my question about a white album double-misprint. I have an US-copy of the white album (SWBO-101, probably first press) that has an upside down cover. If you open the cover the Beatle photos and song titles are upside down. Because the US-cover of this version was made of one big piece and then folded and glotted togethet at only one side, you probably can't fake that (by putting the album cover in a wrong way together). In addition the album contains on the record label the Rocky Racoon mispelling (I think this one is almost known). Have ever heard about upside down covers? Is it anything worth, any idea?
Greetings Ulrich

Answer
Hi Ulrich!

That's a good one! I've not personally seen a Beatles album with an upside down cover, but I've seen them with other artists. Again, it's just one of those things that rarely shows up. Normally, mistakes like that are noticed at the plant where the covers are made and pulled as defective. I can't give you any sort of value as I don't know the condition of the records, inserts, labels, etc and I also no longer do appraisals online, but you can figure that in today's market, you could add an additional $50 minimum for that happy little accident to whatever value your album set normally would have, including the "Rocky" error. Hope this helps and thanks for the question!

Peace,
Pattie
