Beatles, The/How To Find An Appraisal of Tapes?

Question
Hello Pattie,
I see that you don't do appraisals online, but would like to know if you could direct me to someone or someplace who could tell me what the value of 12 "LIKE NEW" Beatles cassettes might be worth. I've done some searching online and have had no luck finding anyone as yet. Appreciate your time in helping me if you can. Thanks so much...

Answer
Hi Elaine!

One way to determine their value is to take them to a local used record shop and see how much they'll give you for them. Cassettes in general aren't really that valuable, being that they were considered a "flawed" format, easily breakable with poor sound quality. Currently, most used Beatles cassettes are going for around $5 in fair condition. If they're still sealed, you might get $10-$15 apiece for them. Keep in mind if you do decide to go to a used record store that they will NOT give you what they're worth. They need to make a profit, so they'll probably only give you a couple of bucks each. If you have 12 of them, you'll be lucky if they offer you $20. Honestly, if you want to sell them and not keep them, your best bet is eBay. Check on there title by title and see what other people are selling the same ones for (in the same condition). That's the best way to gauge their how much you could sell them for yourself. Good luck and thanks for the question!

Peace,
Pattie
