QuestionHi this is my first question on the subject and you seem to be the expert in "Beatlegs".I'm a beginner collector, and i need your help. There's a vinyl record of "A Toot And A Snore In '74" being sold for $30. I know the back-story and i am familiar with the tracks. Its a 1981 pressing supposedly commemorative of johns death. My question is: Whats a fair price? its in G condition, with natural wear. I need your response desperately. So again;
Whats a fair price for a 1981 pressing of a toot and a snore in '74?
AnswerIt's tough to put a value on many bootlegs- A Toot and A Snore in 74 has been reproduced/cleaned many times and while nice for its significance is not that great a recording. Since it is not an official release, it is not necessarily viewed as being commemorative. However, if this particular album has special meaning for you, it may be worth more to you. $30 is a fair price for a 30 year old vinyl in good shape if you like the recording. Since I have the recording of Toot and a Snore on different vinyls, cds etc.. I wouldn't pay more than $20. So the real question is what is it worth to you. I wouldn't buy the album as an investment thinking that you would get the money back. Apologies for the delayed response..
