Question
Hello, i recently purchased a still sealed(loose plastic) copy of the White album. it is a UK issue, not numbered. the spine has both mono and stereo serial numbers. i do not know the year of issue so how do i tell of it is mono or stereo without opening it which i dont want to do. Mike.

Answer
So you're saying that the album has both the mono (Apple PMC 7067-8) and stereo (Apple PCS 7067-8) serial numbers on it? If it has one or the other, than you have your answer.  But if it has both, that's sending off bootleg warning bells in my head.

Other than opening it and listening to it, I don't know what to tell you here.  If you opened it, it would become pretty obvious.  The mono mix is missing the hand clapping at the start of "Ob-La-Do, Ob-La-Da" and I think it's also missing the extra ending of "Helter Skelter."

Expertise

I am a HUGE fan who happened to soak up lots and lots of trivia on her way through Beatle land (I`ve been told I have Beatle radar), so I`m able to answer a question about almost anything!

Experience

I'm a professional music teacher, mainly in vocal music. My particular specialty would be questions on the music theory of the Beatles songs, or ending "who sang what" debates.
