Beatles, The/45 Record
Expert: sarah - 10/4/2007
QuestionI am trying to get some information about some records--I had a friend that was throwing away approximatly 500-45 records. I told her I wanted to see them then I would dispose of them for her or give them back--she told me to throw them away when I was finished. When going through them I saw a few records that caught my eye--One was on a apple label #1875 with Paul McCartney and Wings, another by Paula Records #302--Jimi Hindrix, another MGM blue and white label with lion on it--I cant find what number to put down but recording artist was Hank Williams, a United Artist, MGM South (green and white), RCA, Capitol records--how can I find out anything about them--value and are they worth anything. I saw your blog about Paul McCartney and I thought I would start with you. Could you please direct me in the right direction.
Thank-you
AnswerDear Cyndie,
the record you saw of Paul McCartney is the single "Junior's Farm/Sally" published on 25th of October 1974 on label Apple and performed by Paul Mccartney and Wings. There are various parameters to value a record, as its condition, if it's a limited edition etc..The best way to know it is to bring the record to a collector to valuate it or you can buy this book you can find on amazon: "a Price Guide for the Beatles American Records". Hope this helps.
